We had planned a rest day in Tellico before our the other 3 Mad TATters were due from NC. We got to Tellico a day later than planned and they got here a day early than planned so they had had a rest day before we arrived. Joe M., Ed and Steve stopped by the Farm House Inn to meet us in the morning after breakfast to discuss experiences and our way forward. It was a little awkward. They were anxious to get going but Bill in our group had a coil and CDI ignition coming to the Farm House to fix his limping bike that might take 2 or 3 days. Steve has a time limit and wants to get to OK on the TAT before he has to head south back home to TX so Joe M, Steve and Ed took off moving west on the TAT after meeting us. The plan is for us to potentially catch up with Joe M and Ed in OK or NM when they take a rest day in the future allowing us to catch up.

L to R … Ed with his trailer (for the TAT?), Joe M and Steve from Texas as they head out on to the TAT ahead of us.

I was burned out from the long day in the saddle and the stress of riding in the rain the day before ….. it was nice to hang out in a comfortable house with Wi-Fi in order to work on trip notes and upload pictures to catch up with the blog. We walk out to a Subway for lunch then walked out again to have pizza & beer at the Bear’s Den. Nice to be rooted again and to surrender to circumstances and not to be a slave to goals or having to make progress.

Bill’s excellent work area in the Farm House Inn garage.
