Today is hopefully our last day in Tellico. Laura and Kyle have been great hosts but we would like to get back on the road.

Bill and Kyle installing wheel bearings … how many B&B proprietors volunteer their shop and time to install wheel bearings!

Bill’s parts came into a Loudon TN bike store so Joe and ran up there on our bikes and picked up wheel bearings, a CDI ignition module and coil. Wheels are fix and back on the bike and the CDI & coil did not fix the engine problem so the constant velocity carb is fully disassembled and soaking in carb cleaner…. hope that does it so we can assemble and take off tomorrow.

Tellico is turning out to be a very cool intersection point of roads and social network information of everything motorcycle. A guy just shows up out the blue on a 1200GSA named Mike this morning. He wanted to see what the Farm House Inn was like and wanted meet us because he had read our daily posts on the ADV rider forum thread. He is from Ocala FL, traveling up here for 8 days and stopped by. I ended up having dinner with him and learned he plays Blues harmonica and has been to Clarksdale to play at some of the places Janelle and I visited on our Mississippi trip. He also met Bo Diddly at an airport and had a great story about how “You don’t know Diddly” came about” (hint, Bo Diddly concert at the White House).

Mike from Ocala…. rides motorcycles in the mountains, does long multi state bicycle rides and skis in Utah for a couple months each year. Not a bad retirement plan.

Hopefully I will report from a new spot west of here tomorrow or the next day.

Some catch up on some short trip video’s are posted below since I’ve had time to figure out how to edit them here during our stay at the Farm House Inn.

Bridge crossing on our way out of Smokey Mountains National Park before making Tellico
Riding a red section (more difficult) of Kevin’s GPS track in the southern end of the Smokies on our way to Tellico.
Riding mountain road VA Rt 33 on Day 1 heading out to start the TAT. This looks like MotoGP speeds but the video is at 2X speed to condense the video for viewing and upload. A fun sporty ride for small contact patch 90% dirt 10% road knobby tires.
