OK, for the record, today is not really 7/18 it’s actually 7/26 as I am writing this. I am in Fayetteville AR home of the Razorbacks (U of Arkansas) on a rest day.   You should know that anyone riding the TAT does not make good time on the TAT….that is the partially the point of it. We’ve traveled the length of TN, dropped in to MS, traveled across Mississippi on it’s levies and crossed AR though the Ozark mountains since my last report. On back roads we do ~ 20mph maybe up to 30 mph average speeds so we put 6-7 hrs in the saddle to trave; up to 160mi in a day. It take’s a lot of attention to navigate road s you don’t know at  20-30 mph speed with a heavily loaded top heavy bike on squirrelly gravel roads.  I am tired at the end of the day and 160 mile seems a far way to go. I am only having time now to catch up on the blog.

Flash-back to Blog-time (7/18) – Bill’s bike problems didn’t really get solved yesterday in Tellico Plains with the new parts he got so everyone’s mood is low.   Farm House Inn proprietor Kyle pitched in to help again last night and provided some carb soaking solution so Bill pulled his carburetor again, disassembled it and soaked it over night. Bill reassembled the carb, we all loaded up, and we took off at 2pm. We made only 80 miles but it was great to get back on the road and our day included an exciting water crossing in the rain that is provided in a video below. Not sure Bill’s bike is fixed yet. We got into Dayton TN kind of late and stayed in a cheap Scott’s motel.

AK from DC (left) is doing the TAT for a 2nd time. He heard about us at the Farm House Inn on ADV Rider forum and wanted to stop and say Hello.
A challenging water crossing in the rain just 6 miles west of Tellico.Plains.
